How to work from anywhere by utilizing Colocation and Cloud services.

To begin let’s first understand what Colocation and the Cloud means to a business and being able to work from anywhere. Colocation (also spelled co-location) is a type of data center where equipment, space, and telecommunication bandwidth are available for rental to retail customers. These types of data facilities provide the space, power and security for the hardware of other firms. These other firms connect to their equipment through a variety of telecommunications and/or network services.

Cloud services, these any resources that are provided over the Internet for use by a client.

The most common type of cloud services is Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS) and Software as a Service (SaaS). Infrastructure as a Service involves outsourcing the equipment used to support operations, including storage, hardware, servers and networking components, all of which are made accessible over a network. On the other hand, Platform as a Service refers to the delivery of operating systems and associated services over the Internet without downloads or installation. Then there is Software as a Service. This a software distribution model in which applications are hosted by a vendor or service provider and made available to customers over a network, typically the Internet.

Any company, by utilizing either one or a combination of the two to house the data instead of maintaining their own data center and data technical staff can provide their employees access to the information that they need anywhere in the world. These employees using any mobile device that can connect to the internet would have access to the critical information need to conduct corporate business. They would not have to rely on reports generated by their enterprise system and/or emails from colleagues.
